USE IT WHEN:

Foil is a unique bright application, and can be used on light or dark garments. However if using on dark garments, keep in mind that any additional colors reguired in the design must be printed with a water base ink, so the foil does not stick to it. So color selection must be carefully selected since water base inks print differently than plastisol. It is great for limited run exclusive prints and high end finished garments. Although, not the most cost effective application to use for an entire line; it makes an incredible accent when used tastefully. Not suggested for promotional pieces or “give-aways”, do to the increased cost, however for Retail targeted products, the cost can be justified.

DISCLAIMERS:

Foil shirts should be washed inside out in cold water, and Flat Dried, to preserve brilliance. Compared to metallic inks, foil holds up comparably, if not better, when cared for properly.

The shine of foil will wear off after repeated washing and drying. Some variance in edge quality and shine is uncontrollable with foil. Small detail areas such as small lettering, thin lines, or half tones are not ideal for Foil. There is a higher risk of damaged goods which should be incorporated into the ordering.
